Condition: Oil on canvas not relined. Six patches to reverse. Good impasto. Surface dirt and varnish discolouration. Cracquelure. On close inspection possible stretcher bar marks. Overall, in good condition. In a gilded frame with some simple ornament details.
Paul Cazot was a pupil painters to Pierre Grivolas and Claude Firmin in Avignon, and later enters the studio of Gabriel Ferrier in Paris. From 1907, he exhibited in Avignon. He appeared at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1911 and the Salon des Indépendants in 1922 with works on Avignon and its surroundings as well as views of Paris.
