A suitcase filled with clothes, some sugar and carbon paper, I found myself in a fairy tale mountain area of Costa Rica. A place where I spent five months before I was able to travel back to the UK. During my visit I created a series of unique butterfly prints.
Carbon Paper is very delicate, like butterfly wings. Butterflies are associated with the soul and symbolize rebirth. The limitation of art materials pushed me towards discovering a new process. I spent my days refining this printing technique and teaching myself a completely new set of print making skills.
